Personally, my favorite is Halo Reach. When Reach came out I knew nothing of the competitive scene, so yeah. My first Halo game was Halo Reach that is part of the reason I love it, but mainly forge and custom games have cemented this game as my favorite. No other Halo game have I put so many hours into just to build a racetrack, 4v4 map, btb map, whatever map. A lot of my time playing Halo started and continues with playing custom games with my friends. SOOOOOOOO many a night have I stayed up late so my buddies and I could play an infection game right after the next after the next. I gave up so many hours of mp just so I could build a new infection map my buddies and I could play on. Conclusion, Reach is my favorite. Love the other games, but custom games were and are really fun

I have been playing Halo since Halo 2, which is my favorite game. The multiplayer for that game is outstanding and, in my opinion, has the best campaign there is. Let's be honest here, if even half of the things were different in Halo 2, the universe we all know and love would be pretty messed up. The game added elites, more customization options, awesome maps (including DLC), and I just had so much fun on it.

I have been waiting to play the game since 2009 and last year I finally got to get my hands on it. Without H2 there would be bad news for H3. Spoiler alert! Cortana dies... yep, sorry man but it had to be said. Well, I'm off to go learn about complicated red stone in minecraft. Peace

I'm currently reading Halo Silentium, have read loads of others, played all of the games, watched all terminals, watched all Halo-films, and have a good number of the comics. I challenge you to spoil something Halo for me

My favorite is Halo 3! I started playing Halo at the time of Halo 3, and it really played a big role in how I really started to like video games. It felt like such a great game whether it be the custom games with friends, the ranking system within the multiplayer, or the replay value of the campaign.

You didn't spoil anything for me. I know. I was just cracking a joke because you said your favorite game was Halo 2. So I acted as if you had only played H2 Did you know that the Flood originated as spores and domesticated creatures that were similar to dogs? Did you know Master Chief's birthday is on March 7 and mine is on March 8 and my buddy's is on March 9? (Honestly, you can't know MC's BDay is March 7. Or do you?...)

ODST, just that game had the balls to jump ship and go into more POV's of the Halo Universe, just the atmosphere of that game set it apart from others, no longer were you a super space soldier, you were now a ODST, a grunt of the UNSC, brought you down to Earth (See what I did there ) to see through their eyes, the story in it was immense, showing the completely destroyed New Mombassa, Really got me thinking about the Halo Universe, the people on Earth were getting absolutely massacred and you could hear it through the audio logs that you could pick you on your journey. The open world Hub as it was, was a nice touch as you could choose where you wanted to go and what you wanted to do, a real nice feature of the game Firefight was a new thing that brought wave based combat into Halo and the way that it was done was unique, having finite lives and a unlimited supply of baddies to shoot Really fun to see how long you lasted before you died of not paying attention to what the hell was going on! Great game, that's why it is my favourite in my opinion =v=

I know that the animals you refer to are called the Pheru, and I do know John's birthday. He used to live on the planet Eridanus II, in fact, before being kidnapped by ONI. Interestingly, Halsey and Captain Keyes (not a captain at the time) observed him themselves before doing so. I also know that an even far more ancient species than the forerunners created the flood (or are the flood), known as the Precursors. You can thank them for being the whole reason for the forerunners trying to uphold the mantle and all of that jazz.

Personally, if you would have asked a couple of months ago I would have said Reach, but for some reason I found halo 3 to be more intresting resently

You got me man. I am just a guy who loves Halo. Sadly, I have not gotten the chance to read any of the books though. I guess I'm gonna leave this conversation so anyone else who wants to talk about their favorite halo game can do so.

I had Halo 2 and 3 in the back of my head while typing Halo Reach. All the games are great in their own ways and it is hard to choose a favorite. I guess that is why most people say that the game that first introduced them to the series is their favorite

The large map in ODST that the rookie explores is fun to explore

Great game, that's why it is my favourite in my opinion =v= I LOVE ODST as well. Whenever in Halo Reach, I almost always am wearing ODST armor. Just that feeling of vulnerability, being human, and not being some crazy buff "machine." However, while playing ODST for the first time at an all night game night, I did not really enjoy the campaign. It felt odd because I never got enough time to really bond with any character in particular. Also, that mission where you have to drive your warthog off the edge took me so long to figure out. I spent 1 hour just killing everything and looking everywhere to figure out what to do next. When I gave up and drove my warthog off the edge, i almost cried when I was greeted with a cutscene.

For me it has to be Halo 3. I'm bias because it was the first 360 game I got, and I remember being blown away at how good it looked. I recall playing the Storm for the first time and when the Scarab exploded I was like "THAT LOOKS AWESOME ALL DAT BLUE" Halo 3 was also one of the first Mutiplayer games, I ever played. I remember always wanting to play BTB on Valhalla with my friends, and then we'd go into custom games to test the others crazy new forge levels. I think in terms of a story standpoint Halo 3, while not good as 4's story was a good end to the original trilogy. I also think Halo 3 had some of the best level design in the series and I find my self replaying some missions in the MCC because they're fun.
