I'm sort of making this as a general thread for all Spartan III discussion (if mods are OK with that). We have one on Halo Archive, and I figured it would be interesting to see some other opinions and ideas. I'll include various subtopics so that there is something to start us off: - The Spartan III program being the superior program (better than Orion/Spartan I, Spartan II, and Spartan IV)
- Possible survivors from various companies
- Because Halsey was treated as a criminal for the Spartan II program, how much worse of a punishment would Ackerson have for making the Spartan IIIs had he survived?
- Which Spartan IIIs do you want to make their way/return in future Halo games?

The (in-game) Reach Spartans, all (save George) were Spartan IIIs, were they not?
But back to the whole Ghosts of Onyx thing, I'd love to learn more about Spartan IIIs like in that book.

Yep, all Noble but Jorge was a 3. I would love spin off games about spartan IIIs and other things, can you imagine how cool a game where you play as an elite during the entire game would be?

Every single one of Noble Team died, except for Jun. While he may not have been wearing his armor in Initiation, let's not our hope die that he won't return in future games. I would love to play as elites for an entire game, but I also wouldn't mind a game revolving around a squad in Gamma Company, or the spartans that went through Operation PROMETHEUS.

Sorry for the break of topic.
If you haven't read Ghosts of Onyx of Glasslands don't proceed.
Operation PROMETHEUS is too short to have a game about it specifically though, But maybe coupled with TORPEDO and Kurts stand it could make for a full release. But the Spartan III battles are exactly what I think the Xbox one could do, and I would LOVE to get a game about Tom and Lucy's missions after they got released from Trevelyan.

Well, not specifically, of course. I wouldn't mind playing through and learning about those IIIs though and end it like Reach with a bunch of heroic deaths from the IIIs. Lucy, however, is probably my favorite character in all of Halo. (I know there was a thread somewhere on this site, but I didn't think of her when I saw it) I'd give a lot to play a game where you get to play as her, and maybe Tom (he could be second player, like Arby in Halo 3). Honestly, I haven't read Ghost of Onyx but have read Glasslands, so I really don't care if it spoils the book for me :/

I've read most of the Halo books and Onyx has to be the best out of all of them. But if there was a game I'd also like to play through some of the training of alpha (or beta or gamma for that matter) company.

I'll probably buy it after I read World of Warcraft: Dawn of The Aspects, World of Warcraft: The Shattering, World of Warcraft: Vol'ji, Halo: Silentium, and Halo: The Flood.....lotta reading to do before I get there, lol Gamma interests me most (I think Lucy and Tom were in that one), simply because I know that a lot of them survive.

Tom and Lucy were the only two survivors of beta company. There were 4 survivors of Gamma but all of them were KIA as of 2553. There were some that were put in a weird forrunner thing that cant be described by me but they were clinically dead. Those were the only ones we knew of in Gamma, the others were sent on a mission (seeing how those went, its a safe bet they are dead)
That reminds me, I (or someone else) need to make a list of all surviving spartans.

All of Gamma? I know quite a few of them died within some squads of Gamma Company, but I didn't think they were all killed.

Didn't a few S3's make it into some shield world thing to survive? I forget but I think it was in Ghosts of Onyx? (which is also my favourite halo novel)

The other two jerks were Mendez and Halsey, which I know from reading Glasslands.

(Wasn't there a Linda too or something?) Including Halsey… which doesn't make sense to the games storyline since Halsey is in Halo 4… so idek. Im confused lol

Serin Osman, Spartan Naomi, and various other ODSTs found them on Onyx and took them out of there in Halo: Glasslands. At the end of the book, Parangosky (former head of ONI, before Osman) was giving Halsey a bunch of crap. I assume from there she was taken to the ship where we see her in Halo 4.

Ooooooh that makes sense then, I only read like, one chapter of Glasslands so that why I didn't know that lol. (And book spoilers don't really bother me much. For Halo at least )
