I think so. Mendicant Bias has a very good shot at coming back into the series and seeing as there are still living specimens on the other rings that have not been found along with a picture of a flood spore in one of the Halo Escalation chapters, the Flood has a good chance of returning. Do you think the Flood will come back and if so do you want them back?

I do think that the flood will return in some way. Those little guys have been around since Halo: Combat Evolved, so it would be different not seeing them return in Halo 5. I would predict that some stowaway flood spores would cause some concentrated infestations around the areas of wherever our main protagonists are located.

Finding more Halo Rings = More Flood (I shouldn't be celebrating about these things, they are a bitch on Legendary XD)

Yea they've kept the flood in pretty much every halo game anyways. I don't see why they wouldn't come back in Halo 5.

It is ironic that the forerunners would keep what they wanted destroyed on the exact thing they created to destroy them! Oh the irony!

Honestly, if the Flood return I will cry. Those little buggers freak the heck out of me and make it impossible for me to play a solo Legendary campaign run at 10 at night. However, I can't find a reason why the Flood won't come back. Can anyone give a reason why they think the flood won't come back?

The only thing I can think of is if humanity stopped searching for forrunner things (ei: Halo rings) But seeing how the flood is confirmed still alive in the halo comics, you should probably kiss your 10pm Halo runs goodbye.

I think it is absolutely possible for a return, but I am not sure whether it would be in Halo 5 or a later title. Obviously if Mendicant Bias makes an appearance, and is an antagonist, then it more likely to happen.

I don't remember seeing any flood containment or studies on The Ark, and many people believe he is there. His best possibility would be on a Halo, which the forerunners surely haven't given him the location data to. My money says, because Thel and Locke really need Master Chief's help on this, that a new threat has emerged. I believe this threat are The Precursors, who I see being the more likely to bring in the flood and a lot of it.

Well it may be a long shot, but what if the installations are so well kept the flood can not prosper?

I think they should stay sacred and just kinda briefly mentioned. I'd prefer them not to make an entrance into the games. But maybe thats just me? If it was a "new" enemy, I would hope it'd be something actually new. Liiiike, how the Brutes were new to the Covenant type of thing. Good chance more promethean/forerunner stuff will appear. And what about Halsey coming back? Maybe they need Chief cause they know he'll be able to stop her.

Here's a thought. Somehow forerunners return. A long time ago when Halo 5 was first announced, it was said to be an open world kind of game. An example scenario was that chief finds covenant fighting forerunner war sphinxes and chief takes over one of the scarabs and starts to drive it. So maybe, some forerunners who escaped the galaxy return, the covenant are still there and are under the influence of Dr. Halsey to find the Janus Key and the rest of the artifacts, the flood returns, and humans are against them all. 343 did say H5 is the most "dark" game in the saga. This could be a possibility. It would explain Halsey and the covenant, the war sphinxes, and possibly the flood.

Think about this though Deldour. If Mendicant was the antagonist, which could be possible, he could find other ways. I would like to assume that being pulled apart into different pieces did not completely strip Bias of his intelligence. If he leads Chief to him, and gains his trust, it is quite possible to use Chief to help him find an Installation. I am not sure if there is flood on Installation 3, but they showed it off in Halo 4. I would like to think that showing Installation 3 in Halo 4's campaign would mean that it had some purpose in upcoming Halo games.
